EMILY DIANNE
PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT ME /
"A good photographer must love life more than he does photography..." - Joel Strasser
My name is Emily Hajduk, pronounced like you're saying "hi" to a duck.

Yes, Dianne is my middle name, but no one can pronounce my last name, so I figure 'Emily Dianne Photography' works better for both of us.
My mornings consist of drinking coffee (preferably with my mom or dad over FaceTime, and ideally both). I love decorating, home improvement projects, eating ice-cream, spending time with kids, and rocking out to music, as long as the music is so loud that no one can hear me sing (mainly folk, classic rock, classic fm, and jazz, but any genre really, I love it all). I've enjoyed drawing and reading since I was a kid and own a personal library I'm hoping to grow in time. I can't stand being bored.
I am a volunteer EMT at my local Ambulance Corps and am currently studying business, working as an EMT, and serving my country as a combat medic (68W) in the NJ National Guard.

I love laughing, organization, road trips, yoga, running, soccer, surfing, skiing, hiking, and dogs (especially Bernese Mountain Dogs and German Shepherds). Making lists is one of my favorite pastimes (believe me, you don't want to see the pile of them in my side table!) My dreams are too vast to list and my bucket list currently includes running a marathon (only done half marathons) and visiting Colorado for a ski trip. I could eat a whole watermelon by myself.
I am a Roman Catholic and I strongly believe in people. I love spending time in nature, particularly for the peace it brings me (I know... cheesy).
I am twenty-two years old and was a finalist in the Photographer's Forum Magazine 2015 and 2017 Photography Contests, my photos being published in the books 'Best of Photography 2015' and 'Best of Photography 2017'.

I am an observer and a visual learner. I could people-watch all day. If you massage my head I will love you forever. If you are close with me, I will prank you at some point or another, fair warning.
Random fact about me - I have a strong dislike for plastic... it bothers me (confusion allowed).
Everyone has a story. Everyone has thoughts. Everyone has passions. I have seen the beauty in the curious minds and observant eyes of children, the courage of adults, and the wisdom and weariness of the aged. I borrow these emotions when they reveal themselves in the dimple of a child and in the wrinkles of an aged woman. I then show them to others so that they may appreciate the world in which they live as they speed past. I am a lens. I borrow moments and share them with others. I make note of every face I see because I may never see them again, and they are unique.
"Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second." - Marc Riboud
